I find joy with my family, my faith, and building things - whether it be backyard offices or businesses. After nearly a decade in corporate marketing, I returned to my roots to pursue hands-on craftsmanship in a community I love! Kodiak Backyard Office is more than a business to me - it’s an opportunity to show my children the principles of hard work, integrity, and choosing a fulfilling path!

Kodiak's Story

After searching for contractors for several projects in Georgia, Derek noticed that most were either affordable but flakey…or professional but extremely expensive. This gap opened up the idea to start a niche contracting operation that is fairly-priced without sacrificing solid customer service or professionalism. Backyard Offices are fun to build and in demand in Georgia.

Derek has years of background in construction and entrepreneurship. He enjoys creating useful spaces, working outdoors, and believes in down-to-earth solid customer service while providing ONLY high quality products.
